Member Sink makes it easy to store and access all your loyalty codes, membership cards, and discount coupons in one place. Here's how to get started:

Adding Your First Code

There are two ways to add codes to Member Sink:

Screenshot Method (Recommended)

Simply take a screenshot of any barcode or QR code on your device. Member Sink will automatically detect and import it.

  1. Find the barcode/QR code in any app or website
  2. Take a screenshot (Power + Volume Up on most devices)
  3. Open Member Sink
  4. The code will appear ready to use!

Manual Entry

For codes you have on paper or another device:

  1. Tap the "+" button in Member Sink
  2. Choose "Enter Manually"
  3. Type or paste the code number
  4. Add a name and optional notes
  5. Save your code
Pro Tip: Member Sink works completely offline! Once your codes are saved, you don't need an internet connection to access them.

Does Member Sink work offline?

Yes! Member Sink is designed to work completely offline. Once your codes are saved in the app, you can access them anytime, anywhere - no internet connection required. This is perfect for using loyalty cards in stores with poor signal or when traveling.

Where is my data stored?

All your loyalty codes and membership data are stored locally on your device. We don't upload your codes to any servers or cloud services. Your data stays private and secure on your iPhone or iPad, protected by iOS's built-in security features.

How does the brightness boost feature work?

When you display a code, Member Sink automatically increases your screen brightness to maximum. This ensures barcode scanners can read your codes easily, even in bright store lighting. The brightness returns to your previous setting when you exit the code view.

What types of codes are supported?

Member Sink supports all common barcode and QR code formats including:

  • QR Codes
  • Code 128 (most loyalty cards)
  • Code 39
  • EAN-13 and EAN-8
  • UPC-A and UPC-E
  • PDF417
  • Aztec codes
  • Data Matrix
Can I organize my codes into categories?

Yes! Member Sink lets you organize your codes with custom tags and categories. You can group codes by store, type (loyalty, membership, coupon), or any custom category you create. Use the search and filter features to quickly find the code you need.

Is my data backed up?

Member Sink data is included in your regular iPhone backups (iCloud or iTunes/Finder backups). When you restore your device or get a new iPhone, your codes will be restored along with your other app data. You can also manually export your codes as a backup.

Can I share codes between devices?

Currently, Member Sink stores data locally on each device. If you have multiple devices, you'll need to add codes to each one separately. We're exploring secure sync options for a future update while maintaining our privacy-first approach.

Troubleshooting

Screenshot Not Detected

Problem: Took a screenshot but the code doesn't appear in Member Sink.

Solution:

  • Ensure the barcode/QR code is clear and fully visible in the screenshot
  • Check that Member Sink has permission to access your photos
  • Try cropping the screenshot to focus on just the code
  • Make sure the code isn't blurry or distorted

Code Not Scanning at Store

Problem: Store scanner can't read the code from your screen.

Solution:

  • Ensure brightness boost is enabled (automatic)
  • Clean your screen - fingerprints can interfere
  • Hold device steady and flat against scanner
  • Try adjusting angle or distance from scanner
  • Ask cashier to manually enter the code number

App Performance Issues

Problem: App is running slowly or freezing.

Solution:

  • Close and restart the app
  • Check available storage on your device
  • Update to the latest version of Member Sink
  • Restart your iPhone or iPad
  • If you have hundreds of codes, try archiving old ones

Missing Codes After Update

Problem: Codes disappeared after app or iOS update.

Solution:

  • Check if you're signed into the correct Apple ID
  • Force quit and restart Member Sink
  • Check Settings > Member Sink for any permissions issues
  • If you have a backup, restore from it
  • Contact support for recovery assistance
